Setting Up Your Camera Wall Plate

Ready to set up your Kuna Camera Wall Plate? Start here!

 

Step 1 - Download the Kuna-SE App

First, download the free Kuna-SE app from the Apple App Store (for iOS) or the Google Play Store (for Android). You will need to create an account specifically for the Kuna-SE app, even if you have created a separate account for the standard Kuna app or online store. If you already have a Kuna-SE app account, you can skip to Step 2b.

 

Step 2 - Get Started

When you open the Kuna-SE app for the first time, you will see the Kuna 'welcome' page. If this is your first time accessing the Kuna-SE app or you are setting up your first Camera Wall Plate, click the "First Time User" button to create a new Kuna-SE account.

Note: the Kuna-SE app is different from the Kuna app. Even if you already have a Kuna app account, you will need to create a new account on the Kuna-SE app to setup your Camera Wall Plate.

If you already have a Kuna-SE account select 'I Have an Account or I Was Invited' and scroll down to 'Steps for Existing Users' before proceeding.

 

Step 3 - Pair Your Camera Wall Plate to Your Mobile Device

To set up your new Camera Wall Plate, please make sure it's successfully installed, and that status LED is flashing red.

Make sure that you are standing near your installed Camera Wall Plate, then, select 'Set Up Wall Plate'. You should see your Camera Wall Plate appear in the list of nearby devices, select the nearest device.

When you select your Camera Wall Plate you should hear it say 'System Initializing', this indicates that a connection to your device has been established.

 

Step 4 - Create Your Kuna-SE Account

After selecting your device you will be prompted to create your account. Enter your preferred Email Address, Name, and create a Password.

Passwords must contain at least 8 characters and include one capital letter, one lowercase letter, one number and one symbol.

 

Step 5 - Connect Your Camera Wall Plate to WiFi

Select your WiFI network from the list of networks and enter your WiFi network's Password. We recommend making your WIFi password visible while you are entering it to make sure there are no typos - to show your password, tap the eye shaped icon to the right of the password bar.

After selecting 'Connect to WiFi' you should hear your Camera Wall Plate say 'Awaiting Wireless Connection' - this means your device is establishing it's WiFI connection.

 

Step 5 - Your Camera Wall Plate is Setup! Next Steps...

Once you have successfully setup your device, you can choose to either 'Set Up the Device Yourself' or 'Start with Default Settings'. Selecting the first option, 'Set Up the Device Yourself', will prompt you to configure some of your Camera Wall Plate settings like setting a detection and lighting schedule.

If you select the second option, 'Start With Default Settings', we will apply our default settings to your detection and lighting schedule. You can view or change these settings at anytime. You can read about our default settings here.

 

Steps for Existing Users:

Step A -  Log In to an Existing Kuna-SE Account

If you already have an account, you will log into the Kuna-SE app using your Kuna-SE account email and password. First, click the 'I Have an Account or I Was Invited' button on the Welcome screen.

Once you click Log In, you'll be prompted to log in using your Kuna-SE account email address and password. If you don't remember your password, click the 'Forgot Your Password?' option to reset your Kuna-SE account password.

After entering your Kuna-SE account email address and password, click 'Log In'. You're now signed into your Kuna-SE account! 

 

Step B - Add Your Camera Wall Plate to Your Account

Tap the blue '+' icon in the upper right corner to setup a new device under your account Kuna-SE. After you've tapped the '+' icon, return to Step 3 above to pair your Camera Wall Plate and follow the remaining steps

After you've tapped the '+' icon, return to Step 3 above to pair your Camera Wall Plate to your mobile device and complete the setup.
