To set up your new Smart Socket, you will need to pair it with your Toucan camera. Please make sure that you have your Smart Socket correctly installed and powered on. Your Toucan camera will also need to be powered on and online (solid blue status LED).
Before we get started, make sure that you are logged into the Kuna account that you used to originally setup your Toucan camera.
Step 1 - Open the Kuna App
First, make sure that you have the latest version Kuna app downloaded from the Apple App Store (for iOS) or the Google Play Store (for Android). Next, open the Kuna mobile app and head to the Devices tab.
Step 2 - Add a New Device to Your Account
When you open the Kuna mobile app, you will see the Devices tab and a thumbnail from the live view of your Toucan camera. To pair your Smart Socket with your Toucan camera, click the Add Device button on the top right-hand corner of the screen.
Clicking the Add Device button will show your device options. For this walk-through, we will choose the Smart Socket option by tapping the picture of the Smart Socket.
Step 3 - Select Your Toucan and Find Smart Socket
You will need to choose which Toucan Camera you want to link with this Smart Socket. If you have multiple Toucan cameras set up under your account, they will show up in this section. Make sure that you select the correct Toucan to pair with your Smart Socket.
Choose the Toucan camera you would like to pair with your Smart Socket. In the screen shot below, we will choose the Toucan named "Office".
Next, search for your Smart Socket by selecting the "Tap to Search for Smart Sockets" button. This will prompt your Toucan camerea and mobile app to identify the Smart Sockets in the area.
Because the set-up process uses Bluetooth, you will need to be close to your Smart Socket. We recommend holding your mobile device no more than five feet away from your Smart Socket.
After selecting the Tap to Search for Smart Sockets button, your mobile app will search for Smart Sockets in your vicinity.
Step 4 – Choose the Smart Socket
If there is a Smart Socket (or multiple sockets) in the vicinity, the closest one to your Toucan camera should now be flashing the light bulb on and off. If this is the Smart Socket that you would like to link to your Toucan, select "Yes".
If you would like to add a different Smart Socket to this Toucan, select "No". Your mobile app will then move to the next Smart Socket in the area. This Smart Socket will then flash the light bulb on and off. You can repeat this process until you reach the correct Smart Socket.
Once you click Yes, you will be prompted to name that Smart Socket. You can pick any name that you would like, and if you have multiple Smart Sockets, you can number them accordingly.
Once you enter the name and hit OK, you're all set! That Smart Socket has successfully been added to your Toucan.
Step 5 – Add More Smart Sockets!
To add additional Smart Sockets, you can repeat the process, starting with Step 2, adding a new device.
